Summer brings us creative and outdoor activities that libraries can also organise with our users. This is the example of Santa Maria da Feira’s municipal library (Portugal), one of our 13 Portuguese libraries, which has had many brilliant ideas that it shares with us with its agenda of activities. Exhibition Free your heART

Free Your heART is a competition of works with a free theme, two-dimensional (painting, drawing, photography (painting, drawing, photography and mixed media) and three-dimensional (sculpture, model), open to all students and/or residents of the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, aged of Santa Maria da Feira, aged between 13 and 25, subdivided into two categories: from 13 to 17 years old (Category A) and from 18 to 25 years old (Category B).

The aim of this competition, which is held at the municipality level, is to encourage different talents and promote the active participation of talents and promote the active participation of young people in cultural and artistic initiatives. Of the 65 applicants, 30 were selected.

This travelling exhibition will be shown in primary, secondary and vocational schools in the municipality, as well as outside Santa Maria da Feira.

Reading promotion workshop: Stories with senses

Halt! In the Jungle, the Cuquedo

This will be the motto for the new session of the Reading Club for Parents and Children.
In each session, a theme is tackled and activities are developed.

The library goes to the beach: Mâmoa River Beach

“The library goes to the beach” is open from Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm, at Saturday, from 10 am to 5 pm, at Mâmoa beach in Milheirós de Poiares, promoting access to books and reading, in a playful and leisure space.
It provides readers with book loans, reading suggestions, consultation of magazines and newspapers and promotes free playful and pedagogical activities for activities, free of charge, for the enjoyment of holidaymakers who choose this beach the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira.

Reading Club

The library, a meeting place, has as one of its missions the promotion of reading.
In this context, the library promotes a meeting with books and reading: the reading club promoted by Dr. Rute Cerqueira.
