We are very happy to announce the incorporation of another Lithuanian library to the NAPLE Sister Libraries program.
Šiauliai City Municipality Public Library serves a population of around 100.000 in the fourth largest city in Lithuania. The library has 10 branches. Apart from the traditional services, they offer to their patrons “new and smart technologies, encouraging their use for self-education purposes, overcoming language and technology fear barriers. As a result, the library is increasingly becoming a community attraction and meeting space”.
If you want to know more about them, and what they are looking for just go to the Libraries Section and click on its name. You’ll find it under the Lithuania tab. You’ll also find there a detailed description of their activities and the specific project they want to develop in the Sister Libraries Program.
With this new incorporation, the programme reaches:
123 European public libraries participating!
