Libraries are also commemorating the 4th centenary since the dead of Cervantes and Shakespeare. There’s some very interesting resources where the Sister Libraries can gather ideas and materials for designing activities at their own libraries, maybe in collaboration with their sisters.
TheSpanish Virtual Library of Bibliographic Heritage has released a web page gathering all the resources they have in their database related with Cervantes around different topics: Quixote for children or drawings are only 2 examples. You’ll have access to good quality images of 169 full works in Public Domain hosted in 17 Spanish institutions.
As for Shakespeare, this fantastic web page offers you a range of resources for developing activities in your library.
This page gathers information on Shakespeare and his influence. Aimed in principle for teachers, it can be also used for activities for children and young adults in the library.
These are only a few examples of resources, but we’re sure there’s a lot more!
