Here we come back with more information on the NAPLE Sister Libraries Day, which we will be celebrating, as we told you some days ago, after the idea and invitation from Aleksandra Zawalska-Hawel from the Municipal Public Library in Piekary Slaskie in Poland. The idea is to make it an annual celebration and this first year it will have the slogan Reading is Fashionable!
The NAPLE sister libraries participating will design one or more special postcards with this year’s slogan for the occasion. We will publish them all in the blog as they are received! The libraries will print them and will attach them to balloons that will be released. Other libraries will use them in a different way, but all will have a special programme to celebrate.
Postcards will include these messages in a combination of English and the local language of each library:
NAPLE Sister Libraries Day is a celebration connecting people and European Libraries. We want to show that reading is important and irreplaceable. The celebration is also a kind of a Flash Mob that set to turn people’s attention to libraries. This year we are celebrating under READING IS FASHIONABLE banner.
“Reading books is the most beautiful play that mankind has invented.”
Wisława Szymborska

Dear Finder!
Go to the nearest library and borrow a book. Read it as soon as you can. Keep the postcard. Let it remind you that your life has changed for the better!
