Ana Dadic, national representative of Croatia for the Sister Libraries Program, has sent us information about the summer activities from Požega Public Library. Ana explains they haven’t joined the program yet, but are seriously thinking about it!

2017 is the 5th year in a row that Požega Public Library and Reading Room has organized Library Without Walls programme at the begining of the summer and as the starting point of our programme Summer in the Library (July – Steptember).

The main goal of this programme is to bring books and reading closer to our users (egsisting and pontential) and to take the book out of the library walls, to the streets.

Library Without Walls is designed as a presentation of library programmes and services and mostly as a promotion of summer activities we offer. Each department has it’s own activities and programmes. The Children’s Department always offers crative activities in line with a book. Adults Department offers new titles, conversation about the read ones and an unlimited nuber of books to let for the summer months. Music Department also offers new aditions and an unlimited number to let. This year, during the Library Without Walls programme we had a huge turnout (as every year). Local media representatives always follow up on us and the programmes we have and we all know that they play an important role when it comes to promoting and advocating reading.
