Lithuanian Scout Jamboree “Generation of Campfires” took place this July in The Open-Air Museum of Lithuania. There were about 3300 participant from 23 different counties. This Jamboree was special, because in 2018 Lithuanian Scouts turn 100 years.
Kaunas Municipal Vincas Kudirka Public Library had an honor to represent itself in this Jamboree by setting up an open-air library. In the library area participants of the Jamboree could read, participate in the educational programs, play board games or just relax on the beanbags. The library invited scouts to try VR glasses, robotics and programming, 3Doodlers, etc. The weather was very hot so campers were happy with the activities such as soap bubbles and water bombs.
Kaunas Municipal Vincas Kudirka Public Library is glad that the open-air library in Lithuanian Scout Jamboree “Generation of Campfires” was always full of people who were involved in various activities. It becomes clear that modern library nowadays is not silent place with a lot of books, modern library is an open place where everyone can have a lot of fun.
