Since 2013 Public library “Fran Galović“ Koprivnica, (Croatia) has had a license for organising the TEDxKoprivnicaLibrary conferences as the first public library in EU. So far, TEDxKoprivnicaLibrary conferences have been held 10 times. This program is recognized as a “must attend” event that provides a suite of short, carefully prepared talks, demonstrations and performances that are idea-focused, and cover a wide range of subjects to foster learning, inspiration and wonder – and provoke conversations that matter. During summer months TEDTalks program is held at the library backyard.
“TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages. Meanwhile, independently run TEDx events help share ideas in communities around the world”.
