The project “Summer with a book” has been organized by the public libraries of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys counties for the fourth year. The aim of the project is to promote the public’s interest in literature and reading. 1st June The Reading Challenge project will be launched across the country, inviting people of all ages to read five selected books on specific topics.
The Children’s Literature Department “Žalioji pelėda “( The Green Owl) also invites readers to take part in the reading challenge and read books according to the themes of this year:
1. Read the book of the Lithuanian author
2. Read the book recommended by the librarian
3. Read the book about travel
4. Read the book with a yellow cover
5. Read a book whose name begins with the same letter as your name.
All participants, after overcoming the “Reading Challenge”, will participate in a general lottery, where they will be able to win the main prizes – bicycle, scooter or e. reading room.
Libraries participating in “Reading Challenge” will reward participants who have overcome the Challenge of Challenge / Challenged Participants with incentive prizes.
