Once again, the Vodice Public Library was buzzing with life and laughter. This time, children eagerly gathered for a special Carnival storytelling session and mask-painting workshop. Accompanied by their parents, and in some cases, even their grandparents, they enjoyed an evening of creativity and joy.

Blanka captivated the young audience with a delightful story before everyone rolled up their sleeves and got to work on decorating their masks. From the smallest hands to the oldest, everyone participated enthusiastically, turning the library into a colourful artistic hub.

When Jelena, Marija, Barbara, and the rest of the dedicated team organise an event, there is never any doubt—it will be a success. Their careful planning and passion ensure that everything runs smoothly, making the library a trusted and welcoming space for the entire community, not just during Carnival but throughout the year.

A special mention goes to Martina and Ivan from the local inclusion programme, whose creativity and dedication stood out during the workshop. Their contribution highlights the importance of making libraries a place for everyone, where people of all abilities can come together and express themselves.

The same group will gather again next Tuesday for another enriching library event, while tomorrow, the festivities continue with a children’s Carnival dance at the local primary school.

This vibrant celebration in Vodice Library is a perfect example of how public libraries across Europe can promote community spirit, inclusivity, and lifelong learning. By bringing people of all ages together, libraries continue to be cultural and social hubs that strengthen the bonds within local communities.
