In early December, the Children’s Literature Department Žalioji pelėda (Panevezys Elena Mezginaite Public Library) invited children to listen to Christmas stories and participate in creative workshops.

Every day we get a new group of children who want to hear wonderful musical stories about Nutcracker. We read The Story Orchestra: The Nutcracker (written by Katy Flint, 2017) and listened to the beautiful music of Piotr Tchaikovsky, and imagined that we were spinning in a whirlwind of candy fairies.

When the spells of music dissipated, we suggested that the children answer the questions about winter and Christmas: are the snowflakes white or not? are the Chritsmas eve on 20th December? all birds flying out of Lithuania in winter? is it true that the sea does not freeze in the winter? etc.

After the readings, the participants gathered at the education hall, where they could make Christmas tree decorations: children made the decorations of pine cones, juniper twigs, glossy and colored paper.

So our Christmas campaign was a success. And we are already celebrating Christmas with our little patrons!

Merry Christmas to all of You!
