Piekary Śląskie Library has invited their 5 sister libraries to participate in an art competition for children. The competition is for children up to the age of 13, who frequent the Sister Libraries in Split (Croatia), Haapavesi and Iisalmi (Finland), Arucas and Vilanva i la Geltru (Spain).
The artworks should be connected to the Poland-Ukraine European Cup 2012. It is imperative that the artworks contain references to Poland. A photo of the author needs to be attached to each of the artworks. Each Library participating in the Contest has to choose five best artworks from all submitted by its readers.
The jury will award three main prizes and possible distinctions. The jury has the right to award a special prize. The prizes consist of items related to the European Cup 2012.
All of the submitted artworks will be displayed on an exhibition in The Municipal Library in Piekary Śląskie in the Youth Gallery. The exhibition will last from 5th of June to 5th of July 2012.
Furthermore, Piekary Śląskie Library is thinking about a joint reading on the eve of the World Day of the Book.
