The Children Literature Department “Žalioji pelėda” (Panevezys Elena Mezginaite Public Library) hosted a unique project called “Art Days in the Library.” From March to November, the project invited the community to participate in various artistic activities and discover new creative horizons.
During the project, several events took place:
✨ Ceramics symposium, where participants explored the nuances of ceramics and tried their hand at shaping clay.
✨ Workshops on grattage and frottage techniques, led by a professional artist, unveiling unconventional forms of artistic expression.
✨ Kamishibai theater workshops introduced participants to storytelling through the unique format of Japanese paper theater.
✨ Talking about theatre with a professional theater manager.
✨ Mobile photography lessons conducted by a professional photographer, teaching how to create stunning images using just a smartphone.
✨ Film education sessions, led by an experienced director, offered insights into the filmmaking process and explored the secrets of cinema.
✨ Easter workshops where participants decorated traditional Lithuanian Easter eggs, followed by a vibrant exhibition in the library.
One of the project’s most innovative highlights was a fairy tale created by the library’s educator and brought to life by small Ozobot robots, merging the enchanting world of storytelling with modern technology. Additionally, throughout the project period, from spring to November, the photo contest “With a Book Everywhere” took place, attracting over 80 entries. Participants shared creative and inspiring moments featuring books in diverse settings.
In November, the project culminated in a closing event during which the best entries of the photo contest were awarded. The festive atmosphere was further enriched by a mesmerizing performance by a magician, who captivated the audience with his illusions.
The “Art Days in the Library” project not only brought the community together but also opened new avenues for creativity, inspiring participants to explore their talents and share their artistic expressions. The project was partially financed by the Lithuanian Council of Culture.
