We are very happy to announce the incorporation of another Czech library into the NAPLE Sister Libraries program.

Krajská knihovna v Pardubicích (Regional Regional Library in Pardubice) is one of the largest public libraries in the Czech Republic. They provide both the function of a municipal library and a methodological centre for the libraries of the whole Pardubice Region. They are a modern and open community space that connects education, culture and leisure activities across generations.

They also place great emphasis on digitising and making accessible the printed cultural heritage of the region. They are building a digital library that preserves and presents historical collections and regional documents in an online environment, with the goal of long-term preservation and better use for the professional and lay public. This is an area where they are eager to exchange knowledge and establish professional collaborations.

With this new incorporation, the programme reaches:

146 European public libraries participating!
