Description: We belong to the largest public libraries in the Czech Republic and serve as a municipal library as well as a methodical centre for other libraries in our region. Most importantly, we are a safe, open community space where you can spend your free time, meet friends, learn and enjoy culture and other leisure activities. In addition to traditional book loans, we also offer access to a wide selection of documents including e-books, digitised materials and databases that extend far beyond the physical shelves. And there’s more! We also offer a fantastic range of music media, board games, maps, educational aids for all ages, CDs, video cassettes, LP records, sheet music, librettos for plays, a great selection of Czech and international periodicals and daily newspapers. For readers with special needs, we can offer a fund for the visually impaired including compensatory aids. And if you don’t find exactly what you are looking for, you can use our interlibrary loan service, which gives you quick access to materials from other libraries. Our library has something for everyone! We offer a wide range of formal and informal programmes, from educational events for schools of all grade levels to workshops and special interest groups for children, parents and seniors. There are so many ways to enjoy our library! You can study, read, listen, create, play board games, practice yoga or just relax with a cup of coffee overlooking the castle. And if you’d rather stay in the comfort of your own home, we’ve got you covered with our fantastic online services! Come and see how our library can enrich your leisure time and offer you so much more than just books!
