Description: "Dâmboviţa County Library „I. H. Rădulescu” serves the needs of information, study, education, lecture and recreation of all users from the city of Târgovişte and Dâmboviţa County, offering free and nondiscriminatory access to resources, services, projects and programs. January 30th, 1944 – The Museum of Târgovişte is inaugurated. On this occasion is starts hosting the newly opened „Library of the Townhall and the Cultural House of Târgovişte” until its own location is built (cf. The National Department of State Archives, file 14/1944). 1947 – a committee is formed to coordinate the settlement, building and furnishing of the new building, according to Dalles Foundation plan made by the local architect Ion Magrini. 1950 – as a consequence of the administrative reorganization of the country’s territory, the institution becomes the Regional Library, in charge with the methodological guidance of all the libraries in the area. 1974 – the institution becomes County Library 1986 – the library moves to its present location (No 2 Stelea Street). The Library have: - over 360 000 of publications, encyclopedic collections of books, periodicals, graphic and audio-visual documents - it enlists 13 000 users annually - purchases 10 000 publications annually - distributes 250 000 publications annually - registers over 210 000 visitors on its central location and to its resources - ensures special assistance using means of information: traditional and computerized catalogues - coordinates the activity of the public libraries in the county - lends publications to the users homes and to the reading room - facilitates access to the documents from other libraries by interlibrary lending - collaborates with teachers in order to successfully encourage the children and young people to read - celebrates the cultural and historical events of the local community - mediates direct contacts with cultural personalities - multiplies documents - ensures public access to the Internet through its computers and WI-FI technology available - offers specialized assistance for locating information - provides references trough e-mail, phone and Messenger - provides bibliographical lists on demand - other services: scanning, copying on Memory Sticks, printing - offers access to the Romanian legislative database
