Description: The public library was opened in 2003 and serves one of the youngest municipality in Portugal and in Europe. Is an institution that provides quality services to the surrounding community, with the goal of creating and consolidating reading habits from childhood to adulthood. Also intends to encourage formal and informal education at all levels, promoting creativity, knowledge about the cultural legacy and encourages the appreciation of Arts and Sciences, developing in children and young people the ability to use the information as one of the principal means of access to knowledge, both in schools as, throughout life.
