Description: The Biblioteca Municipal Tomaz de Figueiredo in Arcos de Valdevez, Portugal, is a public library set in a totally rebuild XVIII century building. The reconstruction dates from 2000. Aimed to serve it's 24.000 inhabitants community, the library shares its staff and some facilities with the Cultural city hall. Both gain with the proximity, providind customers with a large offer of cultural and informational events. Team staff are in their thirties - early fourties and share cultural enthousiasm and awareness with their public . The library holds a collection with more than 35.000 itens, keeping a policy of colletion renewal and updating. The library opens from Monday to Friday (10:00-18:00) and Saturday (14:00 - 18:00). The city hall presents all sorts of cultural events all year around (Music, por/rock music, theater, dance, cinema, art exhibits, political forums, cultural heritage conferences, etc)
