Description: On October 5, 1913, the Municipal Library Camilo Castelo Branco opened its doors to the public with a documentary collection of two thousand four hundred and thirty-nine volumes. On December 15, 1987, the Municipal Library Camilo Castelo Branco signs the program contract with the Portuguese Institute of Book and Reading, to join the National Network of Public Libraries. On June 1, 1992, joining the commemorations of the anniversary of the death of his patron, the writer Camilo Castelo Branco and World Children's Day, the new and existing building occupies an area of 2400m2 and is located in full green space of the center of the city, Sinçães Park.
