Description: The library is located in the famous historical Slovenian city of Piran, which is situated on the Slovenian coast. The municipality of Piran has about 17.000 inhabitants. Librarianship in Piran has a long, more than 500 years old tradition . The current Civic library of Piran, however, was opened in the year 1953. In 2009 it moved from Tartini square to its new, modernly equipped premises on Župančičeva street. The library is 409 m² large (built on two floors), it contains 30.000 items of books, 150 serial publications, 40 reading room seats, 8 PCs with internet access, automated borrowing RFID self-checkout machine, multimedia, wireless intenet access.
