For Christmas, the Ribadavia Municipal Public Library put together a Christmas-themed bibliographic exhibition with a creative and sustainable approach. The entire display was made using recycled materials from previous exhibitions: bibliographic panels transformed into trees and reindeer, and a snowman created from reused Christmas ornaments painted white.
The exhibition was complemented by a selection of children’s Christmas books, emphasizing reading as an essential part of the holiday season.
This initiative had a dual purpose: on one hand, to encourage recycling and the reuse of materials; on the other, to show families that a book is a valuable and meaningful Christmas gift. It also invited reflection on the excessive consumption typical of this time of year, while promoting reading habits from an early age.
At the same time, the library organized a photo contest on the Christmas mural, as well as the traditional Christmas postcard contest—a well-loved activity among children and families—with prizes consisting of book sets.
